Following a referendum (which our neighbors called a "voting" People), five medicines called
"complementary" will be supported by Switzerland from 1 January 2012 and until the end of 2017. This is the anthroposophic medicine, homeopathy, neural therapy, phytotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine.
According to the Federal Department of Home Affairs (DHA), "this time transient will be used to clarify the controversial aspects (of the five medicines). During the first half of this year, the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) will specify the repayment terms that will be applied to each of the medicines concerned. According to BAG, their effectiveness "must be judged by an internationally recognized institute that will be delivered by end 2015, an independent evaluation and its recommendations."
The Federal benefits and general principles will be for his part, responsible make a recommendation later in the year 2016. This recommendation should take into account all of these assessments and in the end, the DFI should suspend or not the reimbursement of the five complementary medicines by the end of 2017. This is serious!
